I read this on Mark's blog. The statement that struck me; " This article points to a bill promoting the Bible curriculum for Alabama public schools."

I doubt my stance on this issue is popular among evangelicals. I don't want Bible curriculum in my public schools. That is not what I pay teachers for. I want their expertise in mathematics, art, English and science to be an influence on my child. I do not know the teachers' depth or commitment of understanding of the Scriptures. Therefore, I am not comfortable with their influence. If I desire for my child to have religious instruction outside the home or church environment, I will pay tuition to a private school.
