I hope Jamie doesn't mind me sharing this with you.
Saturday morning, after her daughter's birthday party, my friend Jamie was loading things in her SUV. Somewhat distracted and hurried, she left her wallet lying on the back bumper. The wallet was filled with credit cards and a large amount of cash. When she realized she had lost it, several miles down the road, she began backtracking to search for it.
Meanwhile, a call came in to an acquaintance of Jamie's. An older couple had found the wallet along the highway. Inside was a check made payable to Jamie. The couple called the phone number on the check. The acquaintance called a mutual friend and a connection was made.
Jamie met the couple in the next town over to retrieve her wallet. The lady assured Jamie everything was there. "You really shouldn't carry so much cash, " she cautioned. Overjoyed at having her credit cards and cash returned, Jamie gave the couple a reward of $100. The lady accepted the reward, telling Jamie that she and her husband had only $14 to their name.
God saw a wallet fall onto a highway in Durante, OK. He cared about that family with only a few dollars in their pocket. Be reminded, friends. His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches over me.
