Published studies have shown that laughing lowers blood pressure, reduces stress hormones, increases muscle flexion, and boosts immune function by raising levels of infection-fighting T-cells, disease-fighting proteins called Gamma-interferon and B-cells, which produce disease-destroying antibodies. Laughter also triggers the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers, and produces a general sense of well-being.
For the last few days I have felt stressed. Negative emotions tend to drain me physically. It's a viscous cycle. Last night some one asked a simple question: Who's coming from Atlanta? I know this likely means nothing to you, but it set off a session of laughter that did a world of good for me.
This is my advice for the day. Find something or some one that makes you laugh and get cozy. Giggle, snicker, guffaw or snort! Laugh, already! You're body will thank you.
