In the midst of all the human suffering we have witnessed this week, let us not forget our companions.

Noah's Wish is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing animals in disaster situations. They shelter the animals, tend to their medical needs and reunite them with their owners, if possible.

There is no debate here regarding the importance of human life, the dire need to meet the needs of the people of the Gulf States. I am not asking that you defer funds you would have given to Red Cross or World Vision. I'm asking you to consider giving an additional amount to support this foundation. If you have ever loved an animal, you can understand the despair some families have felt at having to leave a beloved pet behind.

Wouldn't you appreciate some one giving $5, $10 or $20 to save your favorite furball? Give it some thought....
