I have a dilemma. I have a brother that I am not particularly close to; actually, we're not close at all. This weekend he will be licensed to preach. My family is excited and of course, all are expected to attend the service. I have chosen not to attend.

There are some theology issues I won't go into. There are some personal issues I won't go into. The question is this: Do I, regardless of my reasons, have a right to pass on this family event? I know there will be hell to pay, but quite honestly, I would rather suffer the consequences of that than attend the service.
