Recently, I mentioned in a casual discussion that I intended to read Tony Compolo's book Speaking My Mind. Immediately, I was chastised. "Liberal trash" is the phrase that was used.

I realize that Mr. Compolo is a far more liberal thinker than those embraced by my conservative church. I don't need to be spoonfed. I can think for myself, thank you.

It is not likely Mr. Compolo will sway my thinking on most matters. I am not afraid of hearing an opposing view. If you are, your convictions are not so strong as they are untested.
