Six years ago when we moved in to our little house, we looked at the fireplace and said, "It would look great if we had a shelving unit on each side."

There was the original procrastination: We just moved in. There's so much to do. It can wait until next summer.

Some misstarts: I've never built shelving before. I have no idea how to begin.

A few budget problems: Do you know how much a piece of shelving costs? Ridiculous!

A sidebar or two along the way: Third Day filmed their latest DVD in Kentucky, a mere 7 1/2 hours away. ROAD TRIP!

Six years later, we have achieved our goal.

They are gorgeous. Perfection!

In the next few weeks, we begin transforming a never used living room into a much needed dining room. We also plan to build a wall to create a galley kitchen. If all goes well, our house will be our dream home about the time we get it paid off.
