...my Great Grandmother would say that often, whenever some one would take it upon themselves to point out another's mistakes or shortcomings.
We're so quick to judge, aren't we? We grab every opportunity to say, "I would never do that. I know better than that, they should too. They obviously have a problem." Etc., etc., etc. A wise man once told me we criticize because we project our own emotions into the situation. We assume 'Person A' feels or believes a certain way because that's how WE feel. (I think Will & Grace call it Hector Projector. )
Sweeping around your own backdoor is about taking a good look at yourself before you start running down the lists of other's frailties.
Here's your broom. I'll go get mine.
