If you own a radio, you've heard the Tim McGraw song "Live Like You Were Dying". This is what is commonly referred to around my house as cornball country. (Even if you're a fan, you have to admit, its sappy.) Corny as it is, there is truth in the message.
Wednesday afternoon my father-in-law was admitted into the hospital. He had a heart attack. Hubby and I were 5 hours from home when it occured. After the phone call from my mother-in-law, I asked, "Do we need to drive home?" Jason assured me Dad was stable. We decided to return home early Thursday morning.
The days that followed were filled with surgery, tests and lab work results. Jason said something that hit me hard. He said, "If my father died tonight, I would have no regrets. Nothing would be left unsaid."
That is a real example of living like you were dying.
So today I ask myself, "What remains unsaid?"
